A Lincoln care home has issued a city-wide invite to residents to join them for a fun-packed free afternoon of entertainment, food and competitions at their upcoming summer fair.
Bernadette House, located on South Park Avenue overlooking the South Common, is a hidden gem of beautiful architecture, gorgeous suntrap gardens and a hive of regular resident and community activity. Their next open event, their annual summer fair, will take place on Saturday 29th June from 11am to 3pm.
Entry to the fair is free and suitable for all the family. Visitors who come along on 29th June will find a whole host of entertainment and stalls including:
- Thrilling birds of prey display (12-2pm)
- Local craft stalls and bric-a-brac
- Cake sale
- Games galore
- Raffle with great prizes
There will also be a range of complementary snacks and treats, and all are welcome to bring their own family picnic to eat in the gardens. Visitors can find Bernadette House in the private lane nestled between Queens Park Community Hub and the South Common.
Director at Bernadette House Dr Elizabeth Stephens says the fair is a chance for locals and residents alike to enjoy an afternoon together in what is increasingly becoming a community hub: “Our summer fair is always a wonderful afternoon full of fun, but more importantly it’s a great opportunity for us to open up our beautiful home and gardens to our neighbours and really bring the community together. It’s also a chance for locals to see the first-class care we offer here at Bernadette House.”
Bernadette House is placed among the top 20 care homes in the East Midlands out of almost 1,600 facilities in the area and over 45,000 individual reviews, as awarded by carehome.co.uk in early 2019. When the home was awarded the top 20 placement, Davina Ludlow, director of carehome.co.uk, said: “We feel the best people to rate a care home are the residents and their families and friends. Their reviews reveal that many care homes are warm and happy places to live, where staff go that extra mile to ensure residents have a good quality of life and feel cared for. Bernadette House proved that they provide a high standard of care and we’d like to congratulate them on being a Top 20 care home in the East Midlands! It’s a wonderful achievement to be recognised for being a highly-recommended home by the very people you care for. Finding the right care home can be so hard. We hope that our awards will help to make people’s care home search that little bit easier.”
