GARDEN

Bernadette House is set within an acre of grounds, enabling residents to enjoy our expansive beautifully laid out gardens.

Our gardener, Gary, keeps the grounds well-maintained and supports residents in growing their own herbs and flowers from seeds.

We have a number of seating areas where residents can enjoy the sunshine and a summer house for afternoon tea and chats. In the fine weather, our Activities Coordinators organise a range of outdoor activities for our residents from hook-a-duck to hoops.

Our garden is a fantastic space to host events for residents and their families and friends. Each year we have a full calendar of events, including a fireworks display, dog show, summer fete, animal visits and barb-e-cues.

Spending time in the garden is a fantastic way for those living with dementia to stay active and improve their well-being. Taking part in a physical activity like gardening or simply strolling round a garden stimulates the senses and memory and alleviates stress and anxiety.
